Italian verbs are the foundation of the language, and at level A1 it is important to get familiar with their basic forms. Most verbs belong to three groups: -are (parlare), -ere (leggere), and -ire (dormire). Each group has its own rules, while some verbs are irregular (such as essere, avere, andare) and need to be memorised. Beginners first learn the present tense (presente) and gradually encounter simple structures like the Imperativo and the passato prossimo. Verbs change according to person and number, which helps in building complete sentences.
